Objectives

 * Assess how climate-driven changes winds, solar radiation, ice cover, glacial melt affect Southern Ocean biogeochemistrypH, air-sea CO2 fluxes, primary productivity, ...

* Assess effects of glacial sources of freshwater and iron on Southern Ocean biogeochemistry

* Assess effects of small-scale processes using a hierarchy of global models
→ NEMO-PISCES at 1°, 1/4°, 1/12° resolutions
→ uncertainties: unresolved small-scale transport
→ intrinsic variability (ocean eddy driven)
 
* Assess 1/4° version of NEMO-PISCES being used in CMIP6
