Laurent Bopp
Dr. Laurent Bopp is a Senior Research Scientist at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) and Adjunct Professor at the Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS) in Paris. His main research interests concern the links between climate change, marine biogeochemistry and ocean ecosystems. He is an expert in ocean biogeochemistry modeling and has been among the first to introduce marine biogeochemistry in climate models to study carbon-climate feedbacks, ocean acidification and ocean de-oxygenation, as well as the impact of climate change on ocean marine ecosystems. He is the author of more than 150 publications and was involved in the last IPCC report as a lead author; he is a member of the Scientific Steering Committee of IMBeR (Integrated Marine Biosphere Research) since 2014; he is also involved in the EU H-2020 CRESCENDO project (WP leader) on the next generation of Earth System models.
