Martin Vancoppenolle

Martin studies the connections between sea ice physics, marine biogeochemistry and climate, using models and observations. Over the last 10 years, he developed small- and large-scale sea-ice bio-physical modelling and data analysis open source tools, in particular the sea ice model LIM3, used in CMIP and in several climate and oceanic research applications. At present Martin is co-leading the sea ice working group of NEMO and the development of the Sea Ice Modelling Integrated Initiative (SI3). He has also taken part in several field campaigns in the Arctic and the Antarctic sea ice zones.
